Steve Evans

Steve Evans graduated from the Union College in 1994 with a degree in American Studies. While at the Union, he was a four-year starter and captain for the men’s basketball team. He later attended Le Moyne College and earned a Higher Education Leadership Certificate in 2016 and his Master’s Degree in Professional Education in 2018.

Coach Evans served as the seventh head men’s basketball coach in Le Moyne College history from 2000-2015 and ranks second in Le Moyne College Men’s Basketball coaching victories. He guided Le Moyne to over 200 wins.

In 2015, Evans transitioned from coaching to a member of the Le Moyne College Senior Athletic Administration. He provides administrative oversight for ‘Inside the L’ culture programming to support meaningful student-athlete success in and out of competition. He worked as a representative on the NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional Advisory Committee and Sport Administration Council. Evans has served on multiple committees throughout his Le Moyne career, most recently the Middle States and Campus Climate Study Working Groups and the Intercollegiate Athletic Discernment Committee.

In 2023, Evans was promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director and in addition to his culture training role, he is responsible for the oversight of all development efforts for Le Moyne Athletics. He partners closely with Le Moyne College Advancement and Innovation leadership to enhance engagement and support for Le Moyne Athletics through annual and major gifts.
